I hope that log file has everything. This is my first post and I followed the instructions.

If I click to watch a highlight then click on the OBS window, OBS will record at any frame rate or resolution I want. However, if I am actively playing and try to record ( no streaming yet) then OBS will lag and my frame rates will drop heavily. Again, this lag only happens when I have in game and playing.

OBS used to work perfectly for me. I have hours of video files from Overwatch that turned out great. Then I tried to switch it and record directly to Mp4 and everything went down hill form there. I have spent the last week searching and trying to find a solution, I uninstalled OBS and reinstalled it, and did the same for Overwatch. Tried 1080p and 720p, 60 fps and 30 fps, many different encoding speeds, software and hardware encoding, MP4 and FLV, and many other things I can think of or found on the internet. Thank you for any help anyone can give me. Let me know if I missed anything or any information is needed.

I am running:

Intel I7-7700k
16 gb of RAM
MSI GTX 1070

That should be the relevant components.

Hey, so I was looking through some of the newer threads and I think one of them helped me out. I disabled Avast Game mode. Seem to have cleared up the problem for now. I am going to keep monitoring and if the problem comes back, I will ask for help again.
