Question / Help OBS FPS Drop when in game

New to streaming settings and setup so please don't hurt me too bad.

PC Specs:
i7-6700k
16GB RAM
GTX 1080

I am trying to stream Rainbow Six Siege, and when I open the game up, my FPS in OBS drops to 10 or less. Minimize the game and it goes back up to 30. I don't really play any other games atm, so I can't say whether or not this is specific to R6 or not.

I've tried messing with several settings, including every option for Process Priority, and have seen no change in FPS.

I've attached my most recent log.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Same issue here. I've been told it's because I'm maxing out my GPU usage but I had it working fine a few weeks ago and I'm not pushing my GPU any harder than I was then. Try capping your framerate and see if that fixes it... I myself don't deem it an acceptable fix (not to knock the few people that suggested it, I appreciate the suggestions) because again I didn't do this a few weeks ago and all was well. If that does solve the issue then you likely have the same issue I do.

Can you tell me how to do that? I'm not sure exactly where to go.

Also, for what it's worth, my in game FPS is perfectly fine.

Same here, in-game FPS is great but stream stutters. To limit your FPS, one way is to go into your game and turn on V-Sync. This will help if you're getting higher FPS than your monitors' refresh rate. If not you can use something like Nvidia Inspector, MSI Afterburner, or some games have built in the ability to limit your FPS.

I have a G-sync monitor, doesn't that defeat the purpose of having G-sync?

Seems like a 1080 shouldn't be maxed out by this.

That article was written before release, which was well over a year ago. I have my game currently set to 2560x1440, and it's perfectly fine. I know plenty of other that play at 1440 as well.
