I hope that this post also contains the solution, nevertheless I would like to share my experience with OBS messing with Nvidia GT640 HDMI output at 1080i resolution to a 4k TV. The issue I had was, that switching between scene previews (rtmp camera sources AND the second screen capture, which was the 4kTV) made anything shown on the TV flicker between the fullhd image and A QUARTER of the fullhd image. I drove me crazy, when the rtmp source was selected, the TV showed a quarter of any image (windows background, lyrics projection software, video, content did not matter) scaled (magnified) to full screen, but when the scene was switched to the second monitor, the image on the TV (second screen) jumped back to normal, full image shown.

Yesterday I noticed, that the resolution was set to 1080i, as soon as I switched to 1080p, the flickering stopped. Now I am curious if this solved the issue, or just another random app start, when the issue did not occur, so if I encounter it again, will comment. Also question is why did it flicker with the 1080i configuration?

Could not reproduce the issue since, maybe a reboot is required after setting the resolution to 1080i. Also "flickering" might be a strong term, as the screen was not flickering, but showing a static image, the full image when OBS was capturing or previewing the second screen and the quarter image when not.
