I just bought an Elgato HD60 Pro and am trying to get everything set up to stream some console games. However I can't seem to get a signal. I'm currently finding a lot of people saying I need to buy a HDMI splitter to get rid of some HDCP crap so that the signal can be sent. I can't seem to get the signal on the Elgato software either. Do I need an HDMI splitter or is there some workaround?

You dont need a HDMI splitter. Your configuration is messed up.

Right click on your Elgato source for your scene to bring up the Elgato configuration window.

Look at this and mimic my settings to see if it works (assuming you are using a PS4, for example).

I've already had these same settings and I'm using the PS3 with no luck. I've read that PS4 has an option to turn off HDCP but the PS3 doesn't so I'm assuming that's why you aren't having this issue

The PS3's HDCP is always on when connected via HDMI and always off when connected with component or composite.
The HDCP stripping HDMI splitter is a requirement at this point.

I'm betting the ps3 doesn't work in the main elgato software either.

For gods sake, take the freaking time to create a proper title and give enough information so that your problem is stated clearly and can be understood.
Leaving out the important piece that you are using a PS3 was critical to understanding your problem and giving you a solution.

SMH.

Thanks Harold! I researched probably 10 different splitters last night and ordered the one that was most recommended to bypass HDCP for capture cards.
