Question / Help OBS dropping Frame Rate while streaming PlayersUnknown

I'm not the best loganalyzer but what is your x264 set to? Also you have your webcam enabled as an overlay on your gamecapture right? You realize it's set to 1080p which is overkill..could clear some cpu usage of you just lower that. I stream pubg on a 6700k(4-4.4ghz) at 720p60fps and although ingame framedrops occur only from time to time, I have to set the x264 encoding preset to the default 'veryfast' setting, just to maintain good fps. Another tip is to limit your max fps(can do this in the game's config. I play 1440p but limited fps to 72..also to have more room on that cpu.

If it isn't the case already, try first with the c920 disabled and/or with a faster preset than what you currently set it to. Also don't forget it's early access and it'll only get less demanding in the future. And also 1080ps streaming at 30fps or 720p60fps...Most People still use a 1080p monitor which they don't max out anyway..(chat'n stuff). Just think about it. Keep us updated:)

I've had it once that my obs itself kept dropping fps from 60 to even below 20 but that was because my gpu wasn't properly plugged in and only ran at x2, not the desired x16..just in case...I didn't notice it in games btw.

Same thing here... Game frames fine, OBS says it's going down though.
Although I bought pre-built so I would hope whoever built it put it in properly / the proper spot lol. Maybe I'll have to check it...

Also, I've had "encoding overload" errors while streaming AND recording at same time, but using a Capture Card... Any ideas here?

you could check if the gpu is inserted correctly with gpu-z If you don't want to open up the case and fiddle with it yourself. I'd be surprised if it would be the issue though, but that's the only time It has happend to me.

You use that capture card to capture console gameplay or what do you mean? Because a capture card in a single pc gaming/streaming setup is not really a good thing :)

What is GPU-Z...?

For the first problem (dropped OBS frames per second) I use window/game capture to capture the PC games I'm playing...

For the second problem (encoding overload), I'm recording/streaming console games with an external capture card (Elgato), so I'm a tad confused why I'm getting encoding overload as I have an i7...

I'm exactly in the same situation, I'm using QuickSync encoder, my game run at 45-60fps but the stream (720p30fps) drop to 20-25 fps at, iGPU is not overloaded by the compression (40%), my CPU is fine too (70% dedicate to the game exclusively).

(Here my post for more details : https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...s-encoding-while-1080p-48-50fps-ingame.68011/)

Most of people here (lots of thread talking about it last days) have a problem with OBS : Game running fine, nothing is overloaded but stream drop fps.

There is something to know, when my game is 48fps, stream down to 24fps (double). I think something in last version of OBS just divide fps in order to get the goal of your selected fps (in my case 30fps) , there is no compensation by the encoder.
When i'm over 60fps, i get solid 30fps, when i'm 48-50fps, the encoder have difficulty to select 30fps of it, it just divide fps by 2.

Maybe OBS need more cache or delay (400ms isn't enough ?) to get the time to take 30 fps constant of an inconstant higher framerate.

Wait and see.

I guess just something we have to wait for then huh...?
Any ideas about the second problem, with stream audio going out of sync?

I delete and insert complete new gamecapture source, now it works for this moment, i tried a full new scene collection, the gamecapture there works fine. Think its about my browser sources or some videos that i enabled.. Dont know at these time
EDIT: Is it a problem when i have 2 scences with the same gamecapture? Might that be the problem?
