Pretty sure that can't happen in MacOS.
It definitely can. Loopback will do it ($99), and so will BlackHole (Free). I've used both with OBS on my Mac.

Okay, first, you're replying *to a post from 2018*.
Second, by "that can't happen in MacOS" I meant "Windows security settings can't prevent OBS from accessing the microphone *in MacOS*"
In other words, talking about one OS feature is offtopic in the support forum for a different operating system.
I did not mean that desktop audio can't be captured in MacOS. It can't be without 3rd party software, something like LoopBack, which I've been using and suggesting to other users in this forum that they also use (if they can justify the price) since 2016.
Good for you.
I do! I love being helpful, and I love other people being helpful! That's why I am here, in the volunteer support forum for a piece of free software I love using, spending my time helping people solve their problems.
Necroing a two year old thread isn't helpful.
Responding with irrelevant or inaccurate information isn't helpful.
Posting in the wrong forum isn't helpful.
Being passive aggressive, faux polite when someone points out when you've done one of the above isn't helpful.
People who aren't helpful, let's say I love... less.
Do you actually have a problem with OBS that I can help you with?
