Question / Help OBS doesn't pick up sound

Long story short, OBS doesn't pick up sound coming from a few applications.
What it does pick up sound from:
World of Warcraft
Skype
Dolphin (gamecube emulator)
...and my own microphone.

...but if I want to play music on spotify for instance, or play another game, it doesn't pick up sound from that.

Any ideas? This is really weird.

I have three sound devices:
- An integrated sound card on my motherboard which I'm not using
- Asus Xonar DX for the sound
- Blue Yeti USB Microphone for voice recording.

Any suggestions? Please, I really need help!

Thanks,

That is indeed really weird, especially if you only just have one output device.. I'm not entirely sure I have an answer for you on this one. Perhaps there may be someone else who can comment about this who may know specifically what's going on. I wonder if this is something with xonar..

Quite possibly related to my soundcard, although I just noticed that windows sounds and sounds from Google Chrome also are picked up, just not steam games and spotify.

I fully understand if you can't answer this seeing as I'm pretty baffled myself.

it seem like only the applications that forces default directsound rendering are the ones with the problem.. if you can hear the audio just fine on your speakers you can get around this by using an audio enhancer application like dfx audio enhancer just close everything before the installation.
