OBS doesn't display video and only records audio

Hello everybody! So I've been trying to troubleshoot this issue for a while but since I haven't been able to find a solution I might as well post it here and see if you guys can figure this out.

In the simplest way possible,for some reason OBS doesn't detect/doesn't record my video input and as a result, when I record something it just results in a black video with audio. No error messages or crashes or anything of the sort, it simply doesn't record any video at all. I should mention that I was able to use OBS just fine in the past on this pc, it was when I reinstalled and tried to use it again that it simply wouldn't work properly

So far I've attempted to run it as administrator, reinstall OBS, reinstall my video drivers (was really hoping that would work) and going to system settings and specifically putting the OBS.exe in the power saving apps, none of it had any visible effect.

Capture Method BitBit is for older revisions of Windows
To use Window capture for your Windows version either use Automatic or Windows 10 (1903 and up) option.

I've changed the capture method to both Automatic and Windows 10 and ran it as admin and neither of them worked sadly.

Are there any other things we could try?

Are you getting an image in the preview window of OBS ?

The preview window is completely dark, the audio bar does detect audio and moves around and the app that I try to record does have the yellow highlights around it. OBS just can't seem to give me any visuals.

See at the Source, If there have no Source created, Click on the "+" button in Sources and Click on the "Display Capture" option, Manage the Some settings to Display cursor or not, and then Done. If you can't see your Screen in the Window, Click on the Eye Icon near the Source then done. If having issues, please reply, And after Start recording then watch it.

You'll need to tell the Computer What to Do to Record it. Your Sources are none, So anything didn't capture.

Wow, I am just that dumb huh hahaha

But yeah adding a new display capture source seemed to fix everything. It really was that simple.

I can't thank you guyse enough, this'll save me a lot of headache.
