Question / Help OBS doesn't detect my GPU

OBS only detects my igpu in the video drop down box.

My system has both an Intel HD Graphics 4000 integrated graphics processor, and an AMD Radeon HD 8970M. When I use the catalyst software to add the OBS.exe to the high performance list under switchable graphics options it still doesn't recognize the AMD. I've forced my AMD to be in high performance mode, and OBS still doesn't detect it.

Any suggestions? I'd really love to give OBS a try, it looks like a fantastic piece of software.

Unfortunately this is a problem with AMD laptops that have switchable graphics (something about their drivers completely hiding the AMD GPU I think). We've never been able to figure out a way to get them working properly, so basically your only capture options are Monitor Capture or Window Capture with compatibility mode checked.

If you have a laptop with AMD switchable graphics, it's the fault of the AMD drivers. The only way you can capture with those types of laptops is to run your game in a borderless/windowed mode, and capture with window capture with 'compatibility mode' checked in its properties.

EDIT: krazy wins

I'm able to get xsplit to work with no problems.

I tried using Evolve today and it also didn't work. Then I tried XSplit and it works without any problem. Any ideas how XSplit is able to detect which gpu I'm using and work?
