Question / Help OBS does not detect audio streaming from Traktor/Audio 8DJ

OBS does not detect audio streaming from Traktor/Audio 8DJ. When I select my sound card as the source for my audio input it detects nothing despite the fact that it works perfectly and is coming out through the mixer and speakers. If I use the built-in mic, it detects every sound but if I use my sound card it is completely silent. I have already tried adding my sound card as an aggregate device in audio MIDI setup.
I think this has nothing to do with any log but since you request it, here it is. What do I know?
If anyone can help me, I would be infinitely grateful.

Hi Harold. Thank you so much for your reply. I hate Soundflower. The quality is bad. Why wouldn't it just be able to read the signal from my audio card? Everybody else is able to select their source and have that work.

Because Apple goes out of their way to keep you from doing things they don't expect/think you should/will do.

Like capturing desktop audio.

Best thing to do is complain to Apple and try to get them to change that, and in the meanwhile use Soundflower/WavTap and get to work now.

Side note: I'm trying to finish a patch for OBS Mac that would allow for JACK usage, which works very well (at least for me and the tests I'm able to run). So please keep an eye out for it.

Can you help me using Soundflower? I feel like I'm missing a step. I'm having the same exact issue with an Audio 8 interface.
 
I'm running the latest version of Mac Catalina and I'm unable to install both Soundflower and WavTap. Any other options??
