I've tried lots of solutions, but none of them worked. The screen is still black for Display/Game/Window Capture. Switching to Integrated Graphics worked back then, but after updating to the latest Windows Update (1909), the workaround didn't work anymore. Selecting "Browse" in the Graphics Settings causes the Settings app to close/crash for some reason. (EDIT: It crashes everytime I go to some of the settings subsets (Graphics Settings and Apps etc.) I've tried doing sfc /scannow but it detects no errors.)

So far, I've tried:
  • the running it through both integrated graphics and NVIDIA graphics,
  • running it in admin mode
  • resetting the settings
  • trying Streamlabs OBS
  • creating a new scene
  • restarting and shutting down
  • reinstalling OBS
It does capture the audio and the cursor (extremely laggy movement though). Does anyone have any idea what's wrong here? Thank you!

The log you provided has OBS running on the nvidia high performance graphics, Display capture is DISABLED by that.
Use game capture for games, window capture for other apps. Display capture is not recommended on switchable graphics laptops.

Thanks for the reply! It seems like my OS has a problem with switching from integrated and NVIDIA (and tons of other problems lol) so I did a clean install and I'm able to use the integrated graphics now. Thank you!

I have tried everything I can find and think of and still black screen. I did confirm via the current log that OSB is using "Loading up D3D11 on adapter Intel(R) HD Graphics 520". I do have 1909 so I tested to make sure changing the win display setting forced OSB to use the Intel HD Graphics .

Any other suggestions?

PS, it will display outlook, but not chrome or any other app I have running. Display Capture works. Browser does not. Window Capture only works with OL.

It doesn't work on Chrome as me as well, but when I disabled "Use hardware acceleration when available" under Chrome settings, it worked. Hopefully it works out^^
