Question / Help OBS Crashing when using x264? Video stutters withought x264

I've been trying to use obs to record minecraft recently, and after trying settings from various videos the video looks horrendous without x264 (fixing the quality issue with other encoders may be another solution to this problem). I have updated all of my drivers. I do not think my video should be looking this crappy (like just tears and pixelates the entire screen for a few seconds to the point where you can't tell what you're even looking it) because my pc is fairy good (5700xt 2.1ghz. 3600x 4.2ghz, 16gb ddr4 3.6ghz). I'm open to anything, thanks in advance.

I tried using AVC with flv instead of mp4, and I can get decent video. It isnt preferred, but it works for now.

It's a crash in the x264 encoder, which usually means overheating or bad overclock or old firmware (especially AMD should always update to the most current firmware available )
