A logfile would help.

Are you running a 32 bit OS?

Could this be caused by trying to run a 64 bit VST plugin on a 32 bit OBS executable?

It's the crashlog, but it's not the OBS log, so I was just guessing that perhaps you were running the 32 bit executable by mistake and it crashed trying to load the 64 bit VST.

Ok well I don't have that log but this problem is easy enough to replicate since it happens every time

Perhaps try reinstalling OBS and/or the plugins? I just added the ReaPlugs package from their website and I can add the ReaEQ standalone plugin to an audio source without issue on Windows 10 and OBS 21.1.

You might also look at the KiloHearts 3 band EQ which I believe is also free. Perhaps that would work for you.

Oh, I figured it out - I was using the plugins from my reaper install not the standalone. The standalone plugins work fine.
What do you mean by that, can you elaborate please? I have the same issue. Whenever I choose a reaper vst plugin in OBS studio (filters > VST-2.x-Plugin), obs crashes. Can't find a solution.
