OBS Crashing when I apply a filter

I installed OBS.Live today fine. I went to install ShaderFilters and got a little confused, I'm new to this. I watched a step by step online on how to install plugins. I manually copied over the folders to where they are supposed to go. I believe I did it correctly. I went to use the filters on some text and it crashes OBS. I can select it fine, reload the filter, it shows up for a second, then crashes. My laptop isn't the best so that could be the problem, but I do see the test with the filter for a second.
Please help me figure out what is going wrong.

The problem seems to be with the obs-shaderfilter.dll plugin so you may want to check the plugin thread.

I thankfully didn't have too much work done so I was able to just delete everything and start over. But I believe the problem may have been user error. I tried to use an effect filter on text. I believe you can only use Shader filters on text. Haven't had an issue since reinstalling. Thank you for responding though.
