So I've been having this issue for a while now but every time I open OBS and I switch the encoder to AMD and hit record or stream I always get the "Whoops OBS has crashed" box and OBS closes. I can stream and record fine on x264 but my FPS tanks. AMD encoder on OBS use to work before and I have tested it on different programs like XSplit and Player.me and they all can record and stream with my graphics card as the encoder but I just like OBS a lot more.
The fixes I've tried so far:
- Update Windows
- Clean uninstall and reinstall of graphic drivers with DDU and AMD clean up utility.
- Uninstall and reinstall OBS
- Uninstall and reinstall AMD encoder plugin for OBS
- I heard sometimes RAM can cause OBS to crash so I tried force closing everything through task manager and try with the AMD encoder and I got the same end result.
My CPU, GPU and OS:
i5-8600K
Radeon RX580 4 GB (on version 19.1.2)
Windows 10 Version 1809
Here is a copy of the crash log - https://pastebin.com/TYE38Sui
TL;DR - Every time I hit stream or record on OBS with AMD encoder I always get the "Whoops OBS has crashed" box.
