Question / Help OBS crashes when connecting with Wowza Cloud (Win & Mac)

Hi members,

I am trying to use Wowza Cloud as my streaming platform. Wowza Cloud works fine here when using Wirecast but test with OBS let crash OBS alway immediately after starting the stream.

Server connection (RTMP URL, key, user name, PW) isn't the problem but something else is wrong. I installed OBS on macOS and Windows 7 and both platforms create the exact same error (crash). 1920x1080, 30 fps, key frames every 2 sec.

All other specs can be found in the crash log attached.

Any hint would be much appreciated. I am sure it's a settings issue as OBS works here on both platforms perfectly with YouTube...

**SOLVED**

I just found the trigger for the crashes: do not use stream authentication!

Both on Wowza Cloud when setting up your stream nor (of course) in OBS then: Don't use the authentication. While this would make things obviously more secure it leads to crashing OBS on both platforms, Win & macOS.
For Wowza Cloud just go with the RTMP address (URL) and the stream key. That's somewhat semi-secure but OBS works like a charm.

Unfortunately I don't have test credentials as I subscribe to Wowza Cloud every now and then for just 1 month to bring my stream across. The monthly sub is limited to 10h streaming, 500 GB BW etc (https://www.wowza.com/pricing/streaming-cloud-plans).

But you can subscribe for a free, limited trial with all the "real world" settings, no CC needed:

We have the same problem when streaming to our Wowza server. after upgrading to OBS 22, we no longer can stream with authentication. it just crashes when you hit the stream button.

The cause has been found and fixed and will be in the next update of OBS Studio.
