Question / Help OBS crashes MUGEN

I'm VERY new to this, and don't know what's going on, or what to do to, or even what to check.

all I know is this, whenever I play MUGEN, it works fine, when I have OBS and record something else and MUGEN is up, it works fine.

but the instant I try to record MUGEN itself, MUGEN crashes.

I tried to make it work by putting it fullscreen and recording it with monitor capture, but it comes out jittery.

it seems to work with some games and crash with others too but i cant remember which is which anymore

idk what to do
