When I stream my OBS decides to crash without giving me any "bug logs". Its just shuts down. And sometimes it crashes when I've been streaming for 1hr, sometimes 2hrs and sometimes 3hrs. I have no idea why this is happening. Help me out ty.
I cant have my webcam to 640x480 and having another scene with 1920x1080. It must stay the same. So 640x480 aint optimal for me.Some suggestions:
- Lower the webcam settings from a full 1920x1080 to 640x480. You don't need that high of a resolution to show a small image of yourself while you are live streaming. Only if you are showing yourself full screen will it be of benefit. The smaller the size, the less data OBS Studio needs to process. As image sizes get smaller, pixels compact making the quality not noticeable to the naked eye to even matter.
- Make sure you install all the motherboard drivers for your system. If you got Realtek integrated audio on board, you have to install recent audio drivers suitable for that mobo. Also, make sure your Nvidia GTX drivers are up to date. Go to Nvidia and install GeForce Experience and update them regularly.
- You specified recordings and stream audio to be set at DVD 48hz. Since got a Audio Technika that has a sampling rate of 44Hz, change it to 44Hz. Go through every Windows audio playback and recording device and set the device to CD quality 44100 if its capable of doing so. Not all audio devices will be capable of doing 48Hz. Also, for most mics, they only do mono tracks. So to replicate, for the Audio Tecnika, change that to 2 channel stereo 44100 to let the USB audio driver do all the work.
- Click wheel next to AT2020 and choose Advanced Audio Properties. Set the Audio Monitoring dropdown to Monitor and Output so that you can hear it in your studio monitoring headphones and have the mic captured by OBS Studio.
- Mute the Logitech C920 in the mixer. There is no need to pickup two streams of your voice from both C920 and your AT (it will echo). Click the mute button to prevent its output from being captured. Choose Advanced Audio Properties and for the C920, set the Audio Monitoring dropdown to Monitor only (mute output). This way, OBS Studio doesn't have to waste CPU cycles to capture and process.
- If you are overclocking, I would not recommend it - more hassle than its worth. Also DDR4 3200 RAM to stay slightly under.
- With a Ryzen 1700 and GTX 1080, you should be able to do 1080@60FPS assuming a very good stable and high quality upload of 10Mbps and better. Try setting Preset to Medium or Fast and bring up Task Manager and watch each core level. Adjust as needed.
- Set Windows power settings to High performance.
