Bug Report OBS / Chrome conflict

I've been using OBS to stream World of Warcraft raids for my guild since December 2012. Everything has worked great so far, but today when I opened OBS my google chrome crashed. I've been using google chrome for at least 2 years and it is always running during every WoW raid I stream. I have reinstalled both google chrome and OBS tonight, and google chrome is still crashing when I stream with OBS. I installed mozilla firefox today just to test it, and it is running fine with OBS, but I don't like that browser. Are there any known compatibility issues between chrome and OBS? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Here's my log file.

Very odd, as there shouldn't be any reason for this behavior. Can you try the latest test version?

As a side note, is there any reason you have Monitor Capture and Game Capture in the same scene? It's really not doing you any favors, and your performance is suffering a good bit as a result. If there is something you need to use Monitor Capture for, I really suggest putting it in a second scene and looking into the automatic scene switcher plugin that can be found in the Plugins section of the forum. This should maximize your in game performance and stream performance.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to test build 0.48.003b with no luck. I was using an older version when the problem started, and tried version 0.472 last night. However after reading your advice about my scene settings, I did remove my Game Capture from my scene and chrome is currently now not crashing while I stream.

I keep game capture and monitor capture both in one scene because, if they both are not in the scene while I'm playing a game in full screen mode then my stream doesn't capture everything I do. For example, I play League of Legends in full screen. If I play LoL without game capture, my stream is a black screen when LoL is open, and it streams the desktop if I minimized LoL. If I play LoL without the monitor capture, OBS streams LoL fine but when I minimize it OBS continues to just show LoL and nothing else. I wanted the stream to capture everything I see. Maybe I just have some settings wrong, or maybe I need to download that plugin you spoke of. That was the only way I knew how to accomplish the stream showing everything I see though. If I set my games to windowed mode, just using monitor capture gets my desired outcome. However, there are some games I think just look terrible in windowed mode. I'll give that plugin a try, unless you know of a setting I've overlooked or something.

That plugin should do exactly what you need, and allow you only have to use Game Capture when you are in game and getting the maximum in game performance possible while streaming.

I wish I could provide more insight into your issue with Chrome, but I'm not really sure. It works fine for me, maybe try disabling any/all addons you may have installed? Perhaps you have outdated GPU drivers as well? Not really sure, just kind of suggesting anything that comes to mind >_<
