Question / Help OBS Causing In-game FPS Lag

When I use OBS to record Minecraft, it drastically lowers my FPS. While recording, I usually get around 50-70 FPS, while not recording, it almost doubles. The lag doesn't show up on video, as I record in 30 FPS, but it makes Minecraft pretty hard to play when recording. If there is a way to increase my FPS when recording, I'd like to know how.

If you're only getting 50-70 FPS when running Minecraft by itself then it doesn't sound like your computer is really up to the task of streaming. I get about 150 FPS when not recording, I get 50-70 FPS when recording

It could also be the recording quality settings you have set. If you set it up a certain way, you will be hardly able to keep up especially the higher resolution you run. I run at 3440x1440. If I record at that resolution while in a game, my settings for 1920x1080 games won't work because it will be using so much more of my CPU or GPU to encode the video.
