Question / Help OBS Causing CS GO Stutter when Streaming

Hi all,

so I've been having an issue with OBS and streaming. I currently run an i7 4770 @ default speed with a GTX 760. I'm running on x264 @ 1800 bit rate. My issue is that when I start streaming, my FPS stays the same but my game becomes jittery and impossible to play comfortably. I've limited it to CPU usage because that's what shows in my task manager. I've tried setting x264 to veryfast/ultrafast with no help. NVENC is significantly better but still produces small jitter/lag. I'm streaming 1280x720 @ 30 fps, and I don't see too much of a reason why this should be an issue.

My main question would be: would upgrading to an i7 4790k be a worthwhile investment to eliminate this problem? Could it possibly be related to my graphics card?

I can't currently post a log file because I am at work, but will when I get home today. Any help/opinion is appreciated!

Thanks,
- Sam.

you play your game a 1920x1080 so set OBS base resolution in video tab to 1920x1080 then downscale to 1280x720
second check audio format for your mic and speakers, they will be either 48000Hz or 44100Hz. whatever that is, set OBS to that audio format in the encoding tab of OBS//

Code:
Audio Format: 48000 Hz

lastly but very important, don't run any launch options for CS:GO like -high -thread. both of those will negatively affect performance.
