Hello everyone,
OBS makes my games slow to an unplayable amount when using Game Capture or Window Capture. This only seems to be a problem with games though, because I also have successfully streamed music production software even with more intensive GUI animations (spectrum analyzers, VSTs, etc.). But for some reason, OBS makes games as old as Starcraft 1 run *super* slow when using Game or Window Capture. This is before I even start streaming or recordings but just with OBS open on my computer. Task manager displays my computer isn't being too taxed and OBS's CPU load is very low as well.
Computer specs:
Lenovo Thinkpad T420s
i5-2520M 2.50 GHz
Windows 10 64-bit
Intel HD graphics 3000
OBS Studio settings:
x264
CBR
2500 bit rate
very fast
base res: 1600x900
output res: 1280x720
Bilinear
FPS: 30
I'm really pulling my hair out here trying to figure out why Display Capture seems to work fine but all other methods make my games slow down to a halt?
