Bug Report OBS causes crashes within Fallout 3

Hey there,

Was attempting to cast an FO3 run through with the use of OBS, and ran into an issue of crashes to Fallout 3's client within a minute of loading into the world. Determined for sure that this was not a mod conflict, as the issue persists without modified files being loaded.

I've attempted using 32 and 64 bit clients, in the latest stable and test builds, with and without the fallout script extender (which I thought may conflicting with OBS at first), through normal and game capture modes. Having OBS open during gameplay has no effect, but once broadcasting is begun, the crash will soon follow.

Fallout 3's old gamebryo engine has always been temperamental about video hooks, but I was wondering if there were any recommendations or work arounds, or if this will be unsolvable?

Thanks, love OBS.

Have you tried using other source, such as Software Capture? When using Game Capture, make sure that there is no other hooking application working in background, for example Steam overlay, Teamspeak overlay, Dxtory. If it's still crashing, you could capture your game with Dxtory (add OBS to exceptions in Dxtory then) and use it with OBS by selecting Video Capture Card source. The problem is that Dxtory isn't free.

try anticheat compatability hook OR try window capture. make sure you delete the old game capture method if you chose window capture so there isn't a chance of that crashing your window hook.

Post your logfile as well. its under the help menu.
