Question / Help OBS capturing Steam Overlay

Hi, i have a problem. Why OBS capturing my Steam Overlay even if i dont have checked that option? I Don't want OBS capture my steam overlay but with the latest OBS release, that happens with some games even if i don't want that. Any help?
 
There's no guarantee that the overlay won't be captured if it renders before the OBS hook. There's no way for hooks to coordinate so often times it's just pure luck - be happy you aren't crashing :D.

But, before the latest release of OBS i didnt had this problem.. now with this sort of new automatized source detection i have this problem.. I will return to the older OBS Studio version i guess...
 
I have noticed a thing, that happens with RE3 Remake but not with Crash Trilogy.. i have to check on game capture that option to capture steam overlay with Crash, but with RE3 Remake, OSB will capture steam overly even if a uncheck the option on the game capture.. is that a bug?
 
The option is only a best effort attempt - hooking order is not deterministic so depending what hooks first you will get with or without overlay.

Ok but, can you tell me why with older version of OBS Studio, this doesnt happens? Only with the newest, the 25.. with the 24 Steam Overly never get cought if the option is unchecked on game capture options
