OBS can't record slack meetings anymore

Hello,

Since the last update of Slack ( version: Production 4.35.121 64-bit ), OBS Studio can not record the share screen window. Il looks like the window is completely transparent so I can see everything behind it, but not the actual window ( in preview and recording ).

Does someone else has this issue? Can it be solved?

It seems they added some sort of anti screen recording protection. The window that calls appear in are now invisible to the screen recording software. Came here to see if there was a solution, but given this is new I don't think they've come up with one yet.

damn, i was just looking for a solution myself.
I guess this was bound to happen eventually.
is there any other app that this happened to?

I have the same issue. Recording with OBS doesn't work on Windows (the Huddle window disappears, then the screen turns black), but there are no issues on Linux.
I found a Reddit thread where people write the following:
"Has anyone encountered this issue since the recent update? Recording just shows up black but audio still comes through. Started happening since the recent update. Contacted Slack support and provided logs but was told they can't do anything because it is a third party issue.

This only happens on the desktop version of Slack. Web browser works just fine. I've tried reinstalling, clearing app cache, and resetting app data but nothing seems to fix the issue."

It seems obvious to me that this was intentional. Slack's corporate clients probably don't want employees recording meetings with their managers. Salesforce probably ate through a million dollars on developer salaries getting this censorship feature to work.

Contacted Slack support and provided logs but was told they can't do anything because it is a third party issue.

I thought it was intentional as well.
Specially cuz print screen has stopped working as well. When you print it, the huddle screen disappears.

Front line customer service people are sometimes not always fully informed about changes like this. Plus, it could be disinformation because they don't want to admit that this is a feature. I'd take that Reddit post with a grain of salt.

I fear you might be running into a known bug there where overlays like e.g. OBS conflict with the huddle window and so recording the huddle won't work. Does it make a difference for you to huddle in Chrome instead? If you're indeed affected by the bug, recording from there should work.
