If you're using Skype from the Microsoft App store, you can't window capture it.

You need to enable NDI output in Skype and install the NDI runtime and OBS plugin:

I was having this issue with the desktop Skype, the solution was to launch skype with the parameters

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Skype for Desktop\Skype.exe" --disable-gpu --disable-gpu-compositing

And then in OBS turn on compatibility for the source.

PS, I forgot to mention I sometimes have to open OBS after Skype, and then untick compatibility to get it to kick in.
