Question / Help OBS cannot actuate AVerMedia

Hey everyone,

as I'm preparing for a larger project in July, I have currently added two capture cards to my PC. One is the Elgato HD Pro 60 HDMI Capture Card, the Other is the AVerMedia DarkCrystal SD x8 Capture Card for capturing up to eight SD consoles (like the SNES, the N64, PSX and so on).

However, SInce these devices were added, my OBS keeps crashing. The log file is attached, maybe you can pinpoint the reason and help me to fix this problem long term.

I was able to pinpoint that the crashes only happen when OBS tries to control the AverMedia. If I have no Source regarding the Avermedia, it works, however, as soon as I choose this card as a device, CTD!

Anyone can share their expeirence

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards

Zero

Anyone? I really dont want to switch to XSplit, because I have tested it and it works there, but its expensive.

I can confirm I see the same issue with a DarkCrystal SD C351 (quad SD mini-pcie capture) running OBS Studio 23.0.2 (64-bit). I've also reproduced the crash with the 32 bit version and releases 21 & 22.

Crash log attached

Hi R1CH,

I see that you've committed a fix and closed the bug. However, the main repository hasn't moved forward to the new libdshowcapture submodule commit, and so it isn't being included in the nightlys. Will the main repo be updated soon?

I'm trying to get my build environment set up to build it myself, but in the mean time would it be possible to post an updated copy of the libdshowcapture dll somewhere for me to give a try?
