OBS-Browser Video Format Not Spported

On a new Windows 11 Pro system I can record Youtube TV with OBS Window Capture from a browser (Edge or Google Chrome), but when I try to use OBS-browser to record Youtube TV I get the error message "This video format is not supported".

Also, when I record TheRokuChannel.com with OBS Window Capture and Edge or Google Chrome, it works fine. However. with OBS-browser, I get "This browser isn't supported. CHROME (INCOGNITO MODE) on Windows 10 is not supported."

I have tried this with hardware acceleration both on and off in the OBS settings, but that did not fix the OBS-browser error. I also installed the K-Lite Codec pack on the new computer, but that did not help.

I do not have this problem with OBS-browser on other Windows 11 computers with identical OBS settings. Any idea about how I can fix this issue?

Thanks.

Wonder if it's AV1?

Anyway, no need to record videos from YouTube, try 4k Video Downloader or youtubeD/l, both are free. Personally I use Jaksta, but that has a license fee.

Thanks for the response, but my problem is with Youtube TV, not Youtube.

@rockbottom

You were right! I downloaded the free AV1 Video Extension from the Microsoft Store, and now OBS-browser opens Youtube TV just fine.

Many thanks.

I turned off hardware acceleration, rebooted, didn't work, then I installed the AV1 Video Extension from the Microsoft Store, but I still get the dreaded "This video format is not supported." message.

Can you confirm that your setup is still working? I need to download two short (maybe 5 minutes each) clips out of a couple of YoutubeTV recordings. Please note that the recordings are in YouTubeTV, tv.youtube.com, or however you want to say this. They are *not* in youtube. I don't have a problem downloading from youtube.

Anyone out there who has solved this and can confirm the solution still works?

Thanks for your time
