Question / Help OBS Blocky/Blurry Even at High bitrate?

Hey! I have read through a number of posts on here about cleaning up my stream, I just can't seem to get any different results.

Linked is an example of what I'm talking about, my streams are kinda blocky/blurry looking.

My bitrate is at 6500, attempting to stream at 720p60FPS on YouTube. Set quality to high quality, and indistinguishable and have tried a number of advanced settings as well, but no luck.

Would love to figure it out!

Add a zero and you have high bitrate, 6500 is more on the lowend for YouTube. YouTube does reencode everything so you want to have a as clean as possible source, so increase your bitrate if your connection can handle it. For more accurate help post a log.

I tried streaming at 10000 and it didn't make a difference either unfortunately.

Update, I actually had that off. Here is my log from last nights broadcast.

Is this your stream?

have you tried other games? Have you considered doing 1080p? Honestly it looks fine to me, except the resolution could go to 1080p to make it less blurry/blocky.

The problem is, in the preview it is clear, but in the final version it is not. I can run 720p in other software and it looks much better but OBS is the only software that has all of the features I need.

ok thanks for the log.
Things i would do change, YUV mode to 709 full for youtube and change downscale filter from Lanczos to Bicubic. If this does not help, please stream and record at the same time so we can compare what OBS is outputting and what youtube does with it. Thank you

i am also having the same issue but for 1080p 60fps. i am streaming assetto corsa. i easily have enough pc performance for my pc to be good enough below are the main pc specs and i also have enough bitrate for it to look clearer than it does. (no need for me to upload as it looks the same as the one posted by the original post) here is my log https://obsproject.com/logs/udiiG3CaIuqo5kvr

pc specs
24gb ram
i9 9900k 3.6GHz
gtx 1080 ti
when i stream i do get a 60fps stream with no lag and could probably go to 80fps in stream if that was possible.

upload speed 35MBs but i have set the bitrate to 6000 and to 12000 new nvenc, old nvenc and x264 with no difference. if anyone can shed some light on this as i want to be doing more streams but don't feel it's not good enough.

i tried recording on my pc using stream settings and it came exactly how it's supposed to. no blur at all but when streaming the youtube side of the stream looked muddy but not within obs.

Why you all use such very low bitrates?
These terrible bitrates are good enough for livestreams, but not for normal videos.

Also dont use such low resolution on youtube. The resolution selector on the youtube player scales with bitrate. So using a lower resolution it also means lower bitrate.
Optimal resolution for youtube is 3200x1800. Then you get their ID315 Encode - the bitrate meant for 4k videos.

Not full. Partial color range. Full is wrong. Nobody uses full at YUV Videos. Also not Youtube.

There is a difference between 7k and 12k, but you will still get blurring with fast motion in 1080p60 at these bitrates. Many have to choose between 720p60 or 1080p30 at the bitrates available to many users.
