Whenever I try recording eg DayZ or other fullscreen games with OBS using game capture it always blackscreens and all of the tutorials i've seen online have been useless
Hi! Please post a log from a recording session that exhibits the problem that you're describing.
Does the recorded video file show a black screen from Game Capture, or are you checking it by alt-tabbing? Alt-tabbing out of a fullscreen application will break/interrupt its capture hooks, so you won't want to do that. Have you tried running OBS Studio as an administrator?
