Okay ... I'm lost!
I am trying to get OBS to work on a laptop running Windows 7. When doing the initial installation of the program, I downloaded each of the requested libraries as instructed, e.g. DirectX. Once these files were added, the installation of OBS itself went smoothly. Once loaded, I initially enabled Preview Stream to refine the Source to be used in the initial Scene. This worked fine in the two Sources that I tried, namely Window Capture and Monitor Capture. However, when I attempted to initiate Start Recording the saved file shows only a black window with no audio.
I did find and read the post for this issue at "Laptop? Black screen when capturing? Read here first."

Unfortunately, if I am understanding the explanation correctly, it did not help. I did try several variations. For example, turning Aero on and off, compatibility mode on and off, etc. None of these made any difference. I also tried selecting a specific monitor under Settings/Video/Base Resolution/Monitor. Note, I currently have two monitors on my system. One being the laptop's own monitor and the other being a larger external monitor. The larger external monitor is set as Monitor 1. Needless to say, selecting a specific monitor did not help either.
Can anyone offer any further guidance?
