Question / Help OBS black screen after update

There are no sources in this scene collection. You need to add a source or switch to a scene or scene collection that has visible sources.
 
i am sorry i do not understand. The old OBS would always capture my screen (i would see my desktop, mouse, etc) how do i add a source? i can't seem to find it in the settings. :(
 
did some digging, it allows me to add my webcam, but it is not the problem(the webcam works fine) the problem it's i can't capture my monitor. Even adding display monitor to the sources i still get a black screen.
 
If OBS is running on your NVIDIA GPU, Display Capture will not work. This is covered in this laptop guide. If you want Display Capture to work, you have to run OBS on your Intel GPU, but your game and window capture performance will be worse, which you generally don't want to happen.
 
indeed, running OBS on my Intel GPU enabled the screen capture. question: why when i make obs running on the NVIDIA and so the games i play OBS still doesn't capture the gameplay? So far using the intel is the only way to record something
 
Game capture (specifically the OBS source called "Game capture") should work when you run OBS on your NVIDIA GPU, unless you somehow have your games running on your Intel GPU, which should only happen if you've set it up that way.
