Bug Report OBS becomes unresponsive/High RAM usage

This happens when there is a problem with the network; i.e. busy twitch server or internet is being throttled. I think OBS starts saving the frames in RAM, and if I try to stop the stream while the uplink is red and shows 0kbit/s it locks up for 6-8 seconds using over 400MB of RAM before it stops properly and then it still maintains high RAM usage when not doing anything.. Log then notices memory leaks.

I'm having this exact issue. The stream will go for a while just fine, but then it will just crash randomly with the OP's exact symptoms, although I haven't checked the RAM usage. This happens on both 64 and 32 bit OBS, both on the stable and test builds. Here's a log showing one of the many lock-ups, the beginning and end being the important parts. I'd love to hear why this might be happening, if I can fix it myself, or if this is going to be patched in the next release. Thanks.

This is very odd, because i have Intel 2500k @4.3 GHz and can stream 1080p just fine. But from looking at your log you seem to be killing your connection, so maybe your internet can not handle 2500kbps. Try lowering it also can you post a speedtest please.

That's basically what he was saying. I have also had problems where if I experience any connection problems such as packet loss or a lack of available bandwidth due to other network congestion, it will cause OBS to lock up completely (including the text "Not Responding" being added to the title bar by windows) when the OBS status indicator hits Red. After 6-8 seconds it will become responsive, drop the connection, and begin to reconnect as configured in the settings window. It has happened several times to me when my ISP was experiencing noise problems on my node which caused random connection issues for me. Since they fixed it, I have had no problems while still using the same bit rate settings.
