OBS becomes unresponsive after recording

I use OBS strictly for recording, and normally that works just fine. Two days ago OBS started refusing to record a second time if I minimize the program it becomes completely unresponsive and the only way I can close it is by going into the task manager and ending the task manually. I've tried doing clean installs with the most recent version, installing previous versions, nothing makes any difference.

here? where is here? This forum? Perhaps I should have mentioned that I did the obvious thing and searched this site and could not find anything that seemed even similar to my problem, hence why I made my post asking for help.

Okay, you are right. To be honest, the threads mentioned are weeks or months aged. But the "i can't record a second time..." is the common principle on that. In every case it was ryzen and radeon combination with recent amd software updates. For sure.

OBS Only lets me record once

I can only record completely fine the first time, but after I stop recording and I want to start recording again, it won't let me. I doesn't show any error, the record button just stays on "start recording" and I need to restart OBS to be able to record again.

OBS recording button/hotkey stops working after ONE recording

No idea WHY this program is doing this. I can only record ONCE before recording just STOPS WORKING entirely. I have to kill OBS through task manager and reload it for it to record ONCE before I have to do this again. WHAT IS THIS PROGRAM DOING. Here's what happens to the button when I click it...

In the moment i can't find anymore the actual hint what exactly version of AMD software (to downgrade to) helped. But there was.

Record button does not work 2nd time without restart of OBS

Winodws10 environment I can make a recording once. After stop if I wan to new recording, pressing Start button does not work. Logs file dont have any entry of starting 2nd recording. Only way to start new recording is to exit from OBS, kill process using task manager and start OBS again. Using...

Thank you. This wasn't quite the solution I needed, but it pointed me in the right direction and so far I no longer seem to have this issue. Turns out mine was driver related, but I think it had to do with windows rolling back the driver to an older version. If I can find the link to how I fixed this I'll come back and post it, but I've already rebooted and I don't keep browser history so I'm not exactly sure if that'll happen. Best I can describe it, I uninstalled the Radeon Software and reinstalled the most up-to-date version. At the end of the process it told me Windows was automatically rolling back the driver and it gave me a link on how to correct this issue. I followed that guide, installed the Radeon Software again, restarted my system and the issue appears to be solved.
