Question / Help OBS Automatically splits the Output Recordings

Hello,

I have started streaming video games few days ago again and I notice that the saved recording is actually split in more files and is also losing data (there were missing gaps between one successor video to another).

Is there any possibility to save only 1 output file for the entire Recording as it used to be in the past? It would really help me a lot as I want to automate some tasks with python and send the recording video to the Vod Editor right as the Recording ends.

Thank you in advance!

OBS doesn't split files by itself, you must have stopped and started the recording at some point.

I did not do that. Just started streaming and have the option for automatically recording open.

If OBS is set to record while streaming, and the connection to the streaming destination is interrupted, does OBS stop the recording also?

I will check out that link and modify accordingly. Thank you Narcogne. I just thought this splitting of videos is just a new feature of OBS.

The recording will continue uninterrupted if the stream disconnects / reconnects. A log file might shed some light (accidental hotkey, output timer, etc).

I actually had a hotkey enabled for start / stop recording as CTRL + Q. Thank you for clarifying. <3
