*Obs audio issue*

Hey everyone so ive hit a wall in my recording journey, im not very tech savvy but ive learnt enough that I can operate obs and record audio and visuals and more importantly seperating audio, ive uploaded over 10 YouTube videos now without problems but now I have an issue I dont know how to solve that I thought I had figured out, for some reason I cant separate the audio anymore, when I select the individual tracks to assign to mic and desktop audio track 1 will work when I watch the footage back but then there's no mic or visse versa for track 2, the mixer volumes are both moving for mic and desktop but it only seems to work now if I put them both on track one which defeats what ive been doing and having the freedom to edit them separately, it was just fine and now its not, where should I be looking? Obs setting? The windows audio settings? Ive tried everything, ive gone back to the basics and started again but it will not play out of track 2, even after ive adjusted all the setting, selected the correct sources, the right tracks, ive done a master reset, uninstalled and reinstalled, unplugged and plugged everything back in, could there be an issue with my hardware or obs itself? Id appreciate any help on this, i dont want to revord and it sucks,

Love from England.
