I hope someone can help me out with this, because I'm at my wit's end here.
So basically, after numerous days of trying to pinpoint the "issue", I have finally found out what causes audio issues when trying to record or stream.
Here are two links linking to recording's I've uploaded to my Twitch channel. One's got the audio the way it's supposed to sound, the other unfortunately sounds very rough and way too sharp I suppose.
EQ enabled (bad) - https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2254048162
EQ disabled (good) - https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2254877207
The problem occurs when I'm running Corsairs iCUE software with inbuild EQ settings, which I've grown very much accustomed to. Ever since I got my new wireless Corsair headset, I've immediately had to fiddle around with the EQ settings to achieve the sound of what felt "right" to me. I didn't expect this to interfere with the way OBS (and Streamlabs OBS) grab my audio now. It doesn't matter if I capture through desktop audio, or game application audio. If the EQ audio settings are used, the audio will sound distorted and unnatural.
So my question: Is there any way to counteract this, and have OBS not take in my EQ settings for its audio recording? Perhaps it's also my ignorance coming through and not knowing exactly what the EQ does to my whole PC audio, but I feel like there has to be a way. Any input would be appreciated!
Cheers
