OBS Audio for Zoom

I'm starting to grok OBS audio but I am confused by one key thing, illustrated below.
Why does the OBS VIrtual camera show as an option in Zoom but there is no comparable audio option for audio output live by OBS, comparable to the mics offered from my physical webcams? And, what audio source should I select in Zoom to have participants hear what I patch through OBS Studio?

What youre looking for is a virtual microphone plugin. Unfortunately it does not currently exist and from what I've read will be quite the undertaking to create. Other options currently include using the virtual cable solution to output your monitor feed to an input or to send your stream out to NDI and use the NDI virtual input. Neither solution is perfect but they both work.
 
I have the same issue. I can't get the audio output from OBS into Zoom.

However, my audio mix is coming from an audio interface device that is connected to the PC via UBS. I find that the PC is grabbing the audio interface signal and using it as the system audio source before that signal even gets to OBS. So i am using system sound as the audio source for Zoom and the OBS Virtual Camera as the video source for Zoom. Therefore, it all works, but OBS gives me no control over the audio.
