Question / Help OBS and WoW CPU Usage

Hey guys! I am new to OBS and want to record World of Warcraft. It seems WoW takes up a lot of CPU along with OBS. When both applications are open, it gets very laggy with my cursor and lower fps/lag while actually playing the game. Is there any way I can fix this besides following the directions you guys have to lower CPU? Here are my computer specs:

iMac
24-inch, Early 2009
Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB
Software OS X 10.9.5 (13F34)

You probably won't be able to record in high resolution. Seeing as you're just recording, not streaming, try these settings out:

Encoding settings: 14000 bitrate, CBR off, (do not use custom buffer size)
Video settings: 960x540 downscaled resolution
Advanced settings: 'ultrafast' x264 preset, then in custom x264 settings: crf=16

If you continue to have issues, you might have to use more downscale to reduce CPU usage.
