Question / Help OBS and VLC 3

Hi!

Why VLC3 doesn't work with OBS?

I need to add a VLC Source from a Youtube Live, but OBS is incompatible with VLC 3.

Using VLC 2, Youtube Live freezes on first frame.

Yep, I have 2.2.6 on my main edit suite, about to try 2.2.8 on the Mac Mini

Yep, that solved the problem, using 2.2.6 and VLC shows up
 
VLC 3.0 drastically changed the underlying technology. This breaks finding and successfully loading it, VLC and OBS teams are aware of the issue and working on fixing it though this will require a release from VLC. I'm not sure if all the issues are resolved already in VLC development versions but i expect the issues with VLC 3.0 to be resolved and released soon.
