So when I try to use my “Game Capture HD” the video capture is terrible, it’s lagging and pausing every 5 seconds in the live preview window and then that’s how it’s going out on the stream too - so to be clear: I’m taking about the upstream preview/live window, not the downstream view, say on twitch.
OBS is lagging on frame rate and then sending that lag upstream, to be seen by viewers. it’s not an online buffering issue as this happens even when I’m not broadcasting.
I have tried it with Elgato’s own software and it runs fine there, no lags or tearing.
Any reason why OBS is not performing the same?
I’m on windows 8, i7 16GB ram latest obs and slobs and latest Game Capture software.
