Question / Help OBS and Elgato Chat Link Cable for party chat

Hello,

I recently purchased the elgato chat link cable with hopes of streaming my party chat from xbox one. The game audio and video is captured perfectly just as it was before I used the cable but still no party chat. I want to use OBS for my alerts and overlay but am wondering if this isn't possible. Does anyone use this set up and has gotten it to work? If so would you mind sharing your what you did?

Thanks for your help...

Hoping to get some help with this, I'm picking up the party chat using the elgato game capture software but not through OBS. Any help would be appreciated. I really want to use OBS because there are way more options to set up my stream.

Did you set your capture card to use analog audio?

  1. Turn on the OBS preview
  2. Right click on the elgato device source
  3. Click on properties
  4. Click on configure
  5. Check the box that says "Analog audio"
  6. Click done
Now you should have Chat Link sound.

Hello, I stream from my Xbone, an 360, with my elgato capture card. I followed the instructions, and the problem I'm having is, my voice comes thru and the chat comes thru to the stream, but no game sound. Also no game sound on my TV whatsoever. So I was wondering, do I need to buy that Xbox Stereo Headset Adapter to make it all work? Or is it something else wrong? Thanks alot, I just wanted to make sure before I go out buying a 20$ adapter I dont need.

Hey Guys. So I did what Shrimp said and it kind of worked. It went through with the process great but when I configured the audio in the Elgato properties, it would make the capture card shut down by saying no signal in the obs screen.

Any Help? Thanks!

Not sure if anyone replied to you or not, but yes, you need the adapter for it to work with the cable.
