Question / Help OBS and C985 Capture Card

I don't know if its possible but i will try explain. Currently when I use my C985 using the RECentral software to stream it works great minus the fact that I can't get my USB Mic to work with it and use overlays. Once I select Mic and hit start it immediately crashes. But that alone is a RECentral issue.

I am multiboxing 4x Diablo 3 accounts all settings on low at a resolution of 1920x1080. When using RECentral my CPU usage ranges from 40% to 70%. This is with also having firefox or chrome open at my dashboard along with Finders Keepers.

When I use OBS my CPU usage just shoots up and I experience frame rates loss playing the game. Is there a way for OBS to let the card do all of the encoding? Or does OBS have to encode it itself to apply overlays etc?

My PC Specs are:
AMD FX-8350 @4.4Ghz @1.4v
Mobo Crosshair V Formula Z
32GB 1866Mhz RAM
GPU EVGA GTX 770 2GB Superclocked
Boot drive OCZ vertex 2 SSD
Games saved on Samsung 840 SSD

No, OBS does not support the C985's hardware encoder. However since you're using an Nvidia 770 card you could use NVENC instead. Be sure to get the latest Nvidia WHQL drivers from their site and change your encoder to NVENC under Settings > Encoder.

Out of curiosity are there any plans to add capture cards to the supported list? Using NVENC I can see a performance loss in game.

Since the encoder on the card produces worse quality than both Quick Sync and NVENC, plus there is no public SDK for it, no, there are no plans to add support for it.
