Question / Help OBS always starts minimised

I started OBS with start "" /min [path] and a shortcut with the minimised setting a few times in the past, but now it always starts minimised, no matter how I start it. Not even using start "" /max [path] helps. How can I change that?

I would just make a new shortcut from the OBS.exe from the program folder.

That doesn't help. I also directly double clicked obs64.exe in the program files folder, but it still starts minimised. To be exact, a rectangle shortly blinks and then it hides itself. So it's definitely a problem in OBS.

Oh wow, that was actually it. I don't remember setting that option. But it also doesn't seem to come back after starting minimised, so either it was a problem in December (this thread was on my todo list for a long time) or I just accidentally clicked the option.

But now it never starts minimised, even with the /min parameter. How do I solve that?

After trying a lot, I think this is a bug: OBS completely ignores the /min parameter and instead only goes by its own "always start minimised".

You should look at the OBS Studio Guides to find the command line keys: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/categories/guides-studio.8/
in your case the valid key is:

--minimize-to-tray

and don't forget that the setting Enable (system tray) should be enabled in application's settings before using this key.
