OBS 64 Bit not launching (apparently due to graphics card)

Hey there!

I just got me a StreamDeck and for that I need to run OBS 64 Bit. However, OBS 64 Bit wont start
"Failed to initialize video. Your GPU may not be supported, or your graphics drivers may need to be updated".

While I don't have the most current hardware, I am pretty sure that a GTX 1070 should be sufficient. I also installed the latest drivers (471.96) and got my Windows 10 up to date. I have been playing 64 Bit games before.

So what's the issue with OBS here?

You can try posting a logfile, but chances are good your video drivers are screwy. A 1070 definitely should be supported.
Try doing a full uninstall of the video drivers using DDU (NOT their 'driver updater' software, just the driver uninstaller!), then clean-installing the latest new package from nVidia.com (not any manufacturer-specific ones). That'll usually get the drivers fixed up proper, and then OBS can use them.

Thanks, I tried that. Downloaded DDU, restarted in save mode, used DDU to uninstall, downloaded Nvidias altest driver (without geforce experience tool) but the same issue pops up when starting obs 64 (32 always went fine).
I attached the logs.

I have the same computer setup (i5-6700K + GTX 1070) and OBS Studio 64-bit runs flawless since ever. You have an ancient version of OBS - update to the current version. If only the 64-bit version has issues, I suspect a GPU driver issue. Make sure you use an original GPU driver directly downloaded from Nvidia. No repackaged stuff from 3rd party sites.

Nice! Thanks for the tip. I actually didnt realize that it was outdated. I was thinking that OBS32 and 64 were the same program and would update at the same time with different exe files, and so my 32 bit was always out of date, and only saw after your comment that in the log it shows that 64 is horribly outdated. So I downloaded and installed the 64 bit version again and now it works.
So thanks! :D
