I just installed latest version of OBS on a Windows 10 Pro system with NVidia Studio Driver v546.01 for a GeForce 3080.
NOthing appear on desktop. If I look at the Task Manager, there is a task called OBS Studio ONLY as a background process, on GPU 1 - 3D, but it does practically nothing. No app is visible.

Look at the tray (near the clock), right-click menu should reveal few additional options of OBS itself.

If nothing helps, add your latest OBS log-file to your post here. This is how to:

You are right. It appears on tray and I have to click on that icon to show it. Thank you. By the way, this behaviour is confusing me. There should be some evidence that the program is started, at least one that is better than just an icon in tray, which often is not visible unless you open the tray.

I've heard of people asking for special start option such that OBS start only to Task Bar running app icon.. but it wasn't a default OBS Studio startup sequence/UI behavior. I RARELY immediately upgrade (without specific reason, I prefer to avoid the 'bleeding' edge... as it is called that for a reason) so I don't know the specifics with latest OBS Studio v30 default startup behavior. but I doubt highly the default is to start minimized.
So... that begs the question - did you download OBS Studio from this site, or did you change any of the default settings, or have a plugin which may control this behavior? And if you upgraded to v30, did you check BEFORE hand that EVERY plugin you have installed is compatible
