OBS 27.2.1 freezes when calling up the settings

Since the update to OBS 27.2.1, the program freezes when calling up the settings. After a restart, the behaviour occurs again.

When returning to OBS 27.1.3, the problem no longer occurs.

We've had scattered reports of this, and for most users the program unfreezes once whatever is causing it to freeze stops (sometimes after 1 minute).

For one user, it's caused by the application PowerToys. For another user, we're still trying to track down the cause.

Hopefully this helps you track down what could be causing it for you. Could be as simple as antivirus, or as complex as something running behind the scenes.

I jist updated today and it started freezing randomly without any specific length of time. Before the update, i'm able to stream continuoysly even up to 8hrs non-stop.

I also make sure than the only thing running during my stream is just OBS, the game im playing, and the store/launcher where the game was bought. No camera or mic.

did you use the Streamelements plugin or the Stream FX plugin ?
when yes delete the complete obs folder and reinstall obs dont install Streamelements or Streamfx in the moment !

I am using Stream FX and Streamelements and indeed it keeps freezing whenever I go into Settings.

delete obs folder reinstall obs and dont reinstall OBs or the SE plugin ! you didnt need the SE plugin realy !
the plugins dont work with the newest version ! and stream FX is not a stable software !
