OBS 26.1.1 works well on Windows 7 but the minimum requirements says Windows 8

This doesn't answer your question but I would suggest getting rid of 7 and use 10....Windows 7 is not safe to use any longer...

Hello, OBS 26.1.1 seems to work perfectly on my PC (Windows 7 64bits) but the minimum requirements says Windows 8 (https://obsproject.com/wiki/System-Requirements).

Are some features disabled on Windows 7 ?

Thanks.
The minimum requirements are Windows 8 because Win7 is officially end-of-life (EOL) by Microsoft. As W7 is defunct, it is now outside the scope of support. OBS Studio may still work on it just fine; but if you run into problems, you're on your own.

I'd restate that upgrading to Win10 is STRONGLY advised. You can still do so for free, through a step-up loophole still open, if you have a legal copy:

I'm going offtopic but I don't want to upgrade because W7 is remarkably stable (runs for months without having to reboot). I don't want to risk losing this stability, plus I don't like the new look of W10. I will upgrade when I have no choice.

In my experience, Windows 10 is even more stable than Windows 7. I also thought it couldn't get better than Windows 7, but I got one bluescreen per 3-4 months with Windows 7, and on the same hardware Windows 10 got perhaps one per year or none at all. For my current hardware, 5 years old, I cannot even remember when the last computer crash was. Not in 2020 or 2021. Stability is no argument for Windows 10.

Some older thread, but my systems on different computers are even the same: Older. Windows 7. And I can't remember I got ever some bluescreens if there's no broken hardware somewhere in that machines or if I don't do some nerdy things outside the box. And bet....... I' m also using OBS studio, so stability is no argument for Windows 10 ;-)
