OBS 25 to the latest OBS 26 precautions

The latest version is 26.0.2 and I'm still running 25.0.8 with a typical list of scenes, cameras, etc.
Can I safely jump to 26.0.2 and not lose the current setup?
Do I need to uninstall 25 first?

I did update from V25 to 26 with no problem. All scenes and setups are intact on a 3 camera setup. To be on safe side just do the scene backups. Just followed the update recommendation by OBS

The scary part is "Waiting for OBS to exit" which it never does. I had to use task manager to kill two instances of OBS. Anyone know why multiple copies of OBS are running when I reboot and start one copy of OBS?
