Bug Report OBS 0.6xx onward issues, 0.60b was fine

Hi guys,

Not a bug report per se, I think, but I've been having audio issues with all releases after 0.60b. I do production streams, and use an intermediary driver (WDM ASIO link driver) to emulate a what-u-hear / stereo out / mixdown of all the audio on my system. This then creates an additional recording option (in recording devices) in windows which can I select as my primary audio source in OBS.

In all versions after 0.60b, this audio source still shows up in the drop down list in audio settings, however, it doesn't seem to be receiving the audio (when test streaming there's no activity in the little "speaker" bar in OBS).

Any ideas what the issue might be (as there's no crashes I can't really see any point in posting a log)?

Cheers,
George

Unfortunately, without a log file, I cannot know. Log files are not for crashes, they are also for warnings and other information that might happen with devices.

Ok, so this was simply me opening FL Studio, then oening OBS, checking to make use the mic is selected as the UA25 in, out (desktop audio) is the WDM ASIO Link Driver (ASIOVAD Driver), then preview stream start, played audio, no indication audio was being picked up. Preview stopped. Hope that helps.

Hm, well it seems sometimes I can't know with a log file either, no reports of errors/warnings or issues. Not sure how much help I can be in this case, I don't know much about this ASIO driver you're using, it's the first time I've ever even seen it to be honest. I would suspect that if you had it working before then there must be some sort of configuration (its own configuration) somewhere, but I don't know anything about it so I'm not sure how much I could help.

Hi Jim. I can explain exactly what it does, fairly simple if you know what a normal ASIO. Are you familiar with "standard" / native ASIO at all?

I am aware of what ASIO is. I've used it before to reduce input latency when making music. What I'm saying is you're probably on your own here with this driver. You are saying that you're having problem with some driver you have installed. I am saying that I can't know what the problem is. I wish I could help but I don't think I can really do anything to help on my end, we haven't changed the audio capture code or anything.

Ah, right, kk. No probs. I'll just continue using .60 ;) Strange though that .60 picks up that output (simply a emulated stereo mixdown / what-u-hear of the ASIO output, enabling recording output that's generally no longer supported on commercial 2in2out interfaces) and no releases there after. Just my luck lol. Thanks anyway for looking into it.
